V0.1.0 · SHIPPED
Private talkback and IFB inside Zoom. Hold a talent key and your voice lands in that panelist's ear—the meeting, recording, and room hear nothing.
Windows x64 · no admin required · unsigned release may trigger SmartScreen
AVAILABLE NOW
ZComms joins the client meeting as your operator account. Remote talent uses the native Zoom app—no panelist install, virtual audio cable, spare machine, or bot account.

A standing talkback channel per panelist, plus groups and ALL CALL.
Your meeting mic stays open but carries silence until a talkback key is pressed.
Keys show heard, empty, unavailable, or in another breakout room.
Input gain, limiter, ramped PTT, echo cancellation, sidetone, and live device switching.
A localhost control surface ready for Stream Deck and Companion integrations.
VERIFIED SIGNAL
Not a mockup or an architecture promise. The core path is built, tested, and independently isolated by channel.
CH 01 heard CH 01. CH 02 stayed private. One process carries the full channel bank.
PLATFORM TRUTHS
Panelists need the native Zoom desktop or mobile client. The web client cannot receive talkback.
ZComms needs host or cohost privileges to create and staff talkback channels.
Talkback does not cross breakout rooms. The station shows the boundary and refuses a false press.
The operator account cannot host another meeting while ZComms is joined. The app protects that meeting.
FUTURE STATE
The Zoom talkback path is proven. The next work hardens distribution, deepens operator control, and tests where the architecture can go.
Code signing, a dedicated Zoom Marketplace identity, and the cross-account authorization path.
Live verification, room creation and staffing, and automatic talkback membership as talent moves.
AI Companion privacy controls, structured chat cues, tally, and richer control-surface integrations.
A multi-meeting bridge after Spike C proves the host model, plus a thin macOS shell.
Wire-class crew comms with Zoom retained as one endpoint—not the transport for every leg.
Roadmap items are planned or exploratory—not claims about the current release.
